The present invention relates to a skin whitening agent comprising a novel cyclic compound. Provided is a cyclic derivative compound having a chemical structure in general formula (1), having excellent skin whitening effects, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. According to the present invention, the compound is easy to be synthesized, has no side effects with respect to the skin, and exhibits effects in inhibiting melanin generation and effects in inhibiting pigmentation.
