The invention relates to a method for determining a trajectory of a motorized X-ray imaging system for acquiring images of a patient to whom a phantom (30) comprising radiopaque fiducials having a known spatial arrangement has been attached so as to be visible on at least one 2D image of a body region of interest acquired by the X-ray imaging system, the method comprising the following steps: - acquiring one first 2D image of the phantom (30) by the X-ray imaging system in a given position； - detecting the fiducials of the phantom (30) in said acquired first image； - based on said detected fiducials, determining the position of the phantom in a referential of the X-ray imaging system； - determining a set of positions of the X-ray imaging system adapted to acquire a set of 2D X-ray images of the region of interest such that said set of 2D X-ray images complies with at least one imposed requirement on the position of the phantom relative to a part of said set of images, - combining said set of determined positions to determine a trajectory of the X-ray imaging system with respect to the position of the phantom (30).L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination d'une trajectoire d'un système d'imagerie à rayons X motorisé pour acquérir des images d'un patient auquel un fantôme (30) comprenant des repères radio-opaques ayant une disposition spatiale connue a été fixé de manière à être visible sur au moins une image 2D d'une région corporelle d'intérêt acquise par le système d'imagerie par rayons X, le procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes : -acquérir une première image 2D du fantôme (30) par le système d'imagerie par rayons X dans une position donnée ； -détecter les repères du fantôme (30) dans ladite première image acquise ； -sur la base desdits repères détectés, déterminer la position du fantôme dans un référentiel du système d'imagerie par rayons X ； -déterminer un ensemble de positions du système d'imagerie par rayons X conçu pour acquérir un ensemble d'images
