This document discusses, among other things, apparatus and methods forapplying liquid substances, including gaseous/liquid substances using anadjustablepump control system. In certain examples, an example liquid applicationapparatus caninclude, a metering device to provide a flow of a first substance, one or moredistribution branches to receive the flow of the first substance and releasethe firstsubstance through an orifice of one of the one or more distribution branches；and anapplicator controller including memory configured to store an application map,theapplicator controller configured to receive speed information and positioninformation ofthe apparatus, to determine application rate information of the firstsubstance for eachdistribution branch using the speed information, the position information andtheapplication map, and to provide a flow command to the metering device usingtheapplication rate information.
