PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grow plants in an ideal environment with a small amount of medium without using large amounts of rock wool.SOLUTION: In order to grow plants S, a horizontal table 31 is placed on the tray 3 having an upper opening nutrient solution chamber 30； a water absorption sheet 36 for absorbing nutrient solution 20, a root-proof sheet 37, and a diffusion water supply sheet 38 are laminated on the horizontal table 31； a medium 39 is placed on the diffusion water supply sheet 38 and a plant S is planted in the medium 39； the liquid level of the nutrient solution 20 filled in the tray 3 and the relative position of the horizontal table 31 are controlled by an adjustment mechanism 4； the water absorption sheet 36 is brought into contact with the nutrient solution 20 of the tray 3； the nutrient solution 20 in the tray 3 is allowed to permeate into the water absorption sheet 36； and the nutrient solution 20 in the water absorption sheet 36 is passed through the water retention sheet to be transferred to the diffusion water supply sheet 38 and supplied to the medium 39 on the diffusion water supply sheet 38 thereby growing the plant with the medium 39.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
