A method for fabrication of cotton patch, for its application as a smart bandage material comprising: i) synthesizing Graphene oxide by oxidation and exfoliation of commercially available graphite nano powder, ii) fabrication of compact chitosan hydrogel bound cotton patch, iii) fabrication of compact chitosan-grapheme oxide nanocomposite hydrogel bound cotton patch in the manner such as herein described. iv) loading of curcumin in the hydrogel bound cotton patch. The cotton patch obtained by the method is also disclosed.
