La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un embout (14) de protection d'endoscope comprenant les étapes suivantes : - fourniture d'une gaine tubulaire (40) s'étendant sensiblement selon un axe principal (30), ladite gaine étant composée de fils flexibles (42) définissant des mailles (44) déformables élastiquement ； - découpage d'un segment (41) de gaine tubulaire, ledit segment s'étendant entre une première (50) et une seconde (52) extrémités ； - pliage du segment de sorte à disposer une première portion (54) dudit segment autour d'une deuxième portion (56) dudit segment, la première portion étant adjacente à la première extrémité (50) du segment et la deuxième portion étant axialement adjacente à la première portion, une longueur (64) de la première portion étant inférieure à une longueur (66) de la deuxième portion.
