PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sustained release solid preparation of the type staying in the stomach, hardly affected with mechanical movement of the stomach and ionic strength and staying in the stomach and stably controlling the release of active ingredients to sustained release.SOLUTION: The sustained release solid preparation comprises the one or more kinds of active ingredients and a modified starch having &ge400% water-holding capacity, &ge200 g of gel push-in load, 40-95% amount of water-soluble ingredients, &ge90 wt.% of particles passing through a 75 &mum sieve opening and &ge20 wt.% of particles passing through a 32 &mum sieve opening.
