The present invention addresses the problem of providing an angiogenesis promoter capable of exerting an excellent angiogenesis promoting effect without containing any growth factor. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a therapeutic method. An angiogenesis promoter that comprises as an active ingredient at least one member selected from the group consisting of a gelatin derivative represented by formula 1 and a crosslinked product of the gelatin derivative. In formula 1: Gltn represents a gelatin residue； L represents a single bond or a divalent linking group； and R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrocarbon group having 1-20 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom, provided that at least one of R1 and R2 represents the aforesaid hydrocarbon group.La présente invention aborde le problème de la réalisation d'un promoteur d'angiogenèse capable d'exercer un excellent effet favorisant l'angiogenèse sans contenir aucun facteur de croissance. La présente invention aborde également le problème de la fourniture d'un procédé thérapeutique. La solution selon l'invention porte sur un promoteur d'angiogenèse qui comprend, en tant qu'ingrédient actif, au moins un élément choisi dans le groupe constitué par un dérivé de gélatine représenté par la formule 1 et un produit réticulé du dérivé de gélatine. Dans la formule 1 : Gltn représente un résidu de gélatine ； L représente une liaison simple ou un groupe de liaison divalent ； et R1 et R2 représentent indépendamment un groupe hydrocarboné ayant de 1 à 20 atomes de carbone ou un atome d'hydrogène, à condition qu'au moins l'un parmi R1 et R2 représente le groupe hydrocarboné susmentionné.成長因子を含有しなくても、優れた血管新生促進作用を発揮できる、血管新生促進剤を提供することを課題とする。また、治療方法の提供も課題とする。 下記式１で表されるゼラチン誘導体、及び上記ゼラチン誘導体の架橋物からなる群より選択される少なくとも１種を有効成分として含有する、血管新生促進剤。式１中、Ｇｌｔｎはゼラチン残基を表し、Ｌは単結合、又は、２価の連結基を表し、Ｒ１、及びＲ２は、それぞれ独立に炭素数１～２０個の炭化水素基、又は、水素原子であり、Ｒ１、及びＲ２の少なくとも一つは前記炭化水素基である。
