The present invention relates to a bedstead, and more particularly to a bedstead for supporting a patient, optionally for prolonged period of time. Specifically, the present invention relates to a bedstead comprising a platform for supporting a patient a support and an actuator operable to move the support between a recumbent position and an upright position. Also disclosed is a method for moving a patient between a recumbent position and an upright position using a bedstead according to the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention finds utility in, for example, hospitals, rest homes, infirmaries, and similar facilities, by facilitating the care of chronically and/or acutely ill patients.La présente invention porte sur un cadre de lit, et, plus particulièrement, sur un cadre de lit pour supporter un patient, facultativement pendant une période de temps prolongée.
