PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a disposable diaper adhering to the body of a wearer to bring good feeling of touch, facilitating putting on a wearer, and excellent in appearance.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a disposable diaper includes: a step of manufacturing a composite expansible material 5 comprising a first nonwoven fabric sheet part 6U and a second nonwoven fabric sheet part 6L overlapped on each other, and an elastic member 7 and a graphic sheet 8 arranged therebetween and a step of forming a disposable diaper 1 using the composite expansible material for a girth part WP. The step of manufacturing the composite expansible material includes a shaping step of shaping the first nonwoven fabric sheet part and the second nonwoven fabric sheet part so as not to shape at least a part joined with the graphic sheet in the nonwoven fabric sheet part.
