The invention relates to a method for extracting mycotoxins from grains and from other foods, or from animal feedstuff, and to the subsequent quantification thereof. Fields of application are the food industry, the animal feedstuff industry, or biotechnology. The aim of the invention is to develop an extraction method, by means of which it is possible to uniformly extract mycotoxins having different solution properties. It has been found that with the aid of aqueous, buffered naphthyl and/or phenyl compounds or heterocyclic analogues thereof, both hydrophobic and hydrophilic mycotoxins can be extracted.
