A method for user specific, rehabilitative video gaming, receiving the following information: a rehabilitative therapy plan for the user, the rehabilitative therapy plan comprising multiple different physical exercises; a list of past games played by the user and exercises included in the games to determine a level of familiarity of the user with the games and exercises; past performance scores for each exercise performed by the user, then automatically translating the received information into a video game configured for execution by a motion recognition gaming system, by selecting a set of one or more games that include all the exercises required by the therapy plan; selecting a mode of operation for execution of the games by the user; selecting a help level for each exercise in the game; and enabling the user to conduct an interactive gaming session using the selected games.
