PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repelling insects from a clothing, capable of efficiently performing the insect repelling needless to say in preserving the clothing in a small space such as a clothing box or cabinet, even in a relatively large space installation, and not degenerating the clothing even under a severe condition. SOLUTION: This method for repelling insects is provided by spraying an aerosol preparation containing 1R-trans-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzyl 3-(2,2- dichlorovinyl)2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate and a propellant to the clothing or a housing place of the clothing.
