PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants-type wearing article with significantly improved tearing properties in a used side seal part while retaining advantages such as reinforcing effects, prevention of leakage of liquid, etc. and excellent outside appearance because of application of a band material by solving problems peculiar to the wearing article such as an underpants-type diaper having the band material on the skin side of an outer shell body.
SOLUTION: The band material 2 is extended in the waistline direction on a wearers skin side of the outer shell body 1 and on the abdominal side or back side of the waistline part of the article with the upper end edge 2i and/or lower end edge 2k exposed to the wearers skin side. Left and right ends of the band material 2 are held and joined to the outer shell body 1 in respective side seam parts 3. The underpants-type wearing article has a joint end biased part 3u where the inner end in the lateral direction of the side seam part of the joint part in a trifurcate area, in which the upper end edge 2i or lower end edge 2k of the band material runs into the side seam part 3, is located outside in the lateral direction of the side seam part from the inner end in the lateral direction of the side seam part of the joint part on the upper side or lower side of the joint part in the longitudinal direction.
