The present invention relates to a method for preparing a non-toxic and environment-friendly plant humectant for retaining moisture and moisturizing a plant. The present invention is comprised of 0.5-1.5 wt% of a high absorbing resin, 1-20 wt% of natural oil, 10-50 wt% of natural fatty acid, 0.5-3 wt% of a binder, 1-30 wt% of a non-ionic surfactant, 10-60 wt% of water. Since, a humectant, which is flooded and sprayed into a plant and soil, is infiltrated into soil thereby forming a moisturizing layer on a surface of plant&prime；s roots, moisturization and moisture retention is achieved thereby preventing drought damage and excess-moisture injury of a plant, promoting growth of a plant, and remarkably improving a crop yield.본 발명은 식물의 수분 보습과 수분 유지를 위한 무독성 친환경의 식물 보습제(humectant, 保濕劑) 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 고흡수성수지 0.5~1.5 중량%, 천연오일 1~20 중량%, 천연지방산 10~50 중량%, 바인더 0.5~3 중량%, 비이온계면활성제 1~30 중량%, 물 10~60 중량%로 이루어지며, 식물(植物) 및 토양(土壤)으로 관수, 살포되는 보습제가 토양속으로 스며든 다음 식물뿌리 표면에 보습막을 형성하면서 수분 보습과 수분이 유지되어 식물의 한해와 습해가 방지되고, 식물 성장이 촉진되며, 농작물 수확량이 크게 향상되는 등의 효과가 있다.
