To provide a composition and a method for coating or grazing in a uniform state, a dry kibble for improving palatability without damage of crunch property of a dry pet food kibble for a long term.SOLUTION: A coating composition comprises water and at least one of gum and modified starch. The coating composition may comprise one or two or more additional raw materials out of a flavoring, a coloring agent, emulsified or granular meat, emulsified or granular fruit or vegetable, antioxidant, vitamin, mineral, non-proliferative microbes, dietary fiber or prebiotics. In one embodiment, the coating composition may comprise dextrose and/or glycin.
