The spreader system (12) is characterized by a hood assembly (30) including a rotatable first hood (48, 84, 120) and a rotatable second hood (49, 85, 122). The first hood (48, 84, 120) and second hood (49, 85, 122) cover a portion of a respective first disc (42) and second disc (88) and are configured to rotate between a first position and a second position. In the first position the first hood (48, 84, 120) and second hood (49, 85, 122) block upward and rearward flow of a first agricultural material, a second agricultural material, an airflow, or a combination thereof.
