PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester having an adjusting mechanism for the number of ridges for pulling out and having a pulling and conveying mechanism of a compact configuration.SOLUTION: A pulling and conveying device 24 for holding and harvesting crops is provided. A ridge number adjusting frame 151 for varying the number of ridges for pulling out of the pulling and conveying device 24 is provided with a ridge number adjusting member 153. A first biasing member 154 for biasing a pulling endless belt 18 when crops in one ridge are pulled out is provided on a side closer to a starting end than to the ridge number adjusting member 153. A second biasing member 155 for biasing the pulling endless belt 18 when crops in a plurality of ridges are pulled out is provided behind the ridge number adjusting member 153. When the pulling endless band 18 is pushed by the first biasing member 154, a one-ridge pulling configuration in which crops are held by the starting end portion of the pulling and conveying device 24 is formed.
