PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly measure pulse waves with low power consumption.SOLUTION: A pulse wave measuring instrument includes a storage unit and a subtracter. The storage unit stores a value of a first digital signal showing an output state of a light-receiving element for receiving light transmitted through or reflected from the interior of the body at a timing of a lighting state in which light is emitted toward the interior of the body, and a value of a second digital signal showing an output state of the light-receiving element at a timing of a non-lit state in which the light is not emitted when the light-emitting element is alternately switched between the lit state and the non-lit state.
