A preparation of seaweed with anti-inflammatory principles isolated from the aqueous and ethyl acetate factions derived from the aqueous methanolic extract of brown seaweeds Turbinaria conoides and Turbinaria ornata have been delivered in the present invention. The anti-inflammatory principles described in the present invention were sulfated oligofucan derivative with (1)-fucose (2- SO3-)-(14)-fucose(2-SO3-)-(13)-fucose(2,3-diSO3-)-(14)-fucose(2-SO3-, 3-OAc)-(4) motifs, and anti-inflammatory compounds 1- (3a,4-hexahydro-5-isopropyl-4,7-dimethylbenzofuran-2-yl)decan-1-one (Compound 1), 2,3,4,17-tetradecahydro-17-((Z)-5- isopropylhept-5-en-2-yl)-10,13-dimethyl-7-(3-methylbutan-2-yl)-1H-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-ol (Compound 2), (4E,9E,12E)-4- ethyl-16-((2S,4R,5R)-5-ethyl-tetrahydro-4,6-dihydroxy-2H-pyran-2-yl)-7-hydroxy-10-methylhexadeca-4,9,12-trienoic acid (Compound 3), (8E,11Z)-methyl 10-methylhexadeca-8,11-dienoate (Compound 4), (2H,3H,4H-tetrahydro)-5-(phenyl)-4(butyl) furan - 3-ethyl- 4-hydroxy benzoate (Compound 5), and (2E)-methyl 5-(4-hydroxy-2-((E)-5-methylhex-2-enyl)phenyl)-2-methyl-4-oxopent- 2-enoate (Compound 6) that are present in different proportions in the seaweed oleoresin with anti-inflammatory activity. The preparation of seaweeds comprised of 95% sulfated oligofucan and 5% oleoresin of ethyl acetate extract, which contain the six compounds with potential anti-inflammatory activities as described by anti-cycloxygenase-2 and anti-5-lipoxygenase properties. The oleoresin of seaweed was prepared from the brown seaweed Turbinaria conoides and emulsified with polyoxyethylene derivative of sorbitan monolaurate (1:1, w/w) containing 0.02% of compound 1, 0.089% of compound 2, 0.029% of compound 3, 0.126% of compound 4, 0.05% of compound 5 and 0.081% of compound 6. The anti-inflammatory activity of the anti-inflammatory preparation of seaweeds was found to be comparable with the synthetic drug aspirin. The anti-inflammatory preparation of seaweed
