Where a carriage accelerates regardless of that fact that a deceleration control unit has begun to restrict the movement of the carriage, a brake control unit causes a brake device to operate. According to the present invention, if the carriage accelerates regardless of the fact that a deceleration control unit has begun to restrict the movement of the carriage, the brake device is promptly operated, and prevents concern regardless of the application of an instruction to stop the carriage which is travelling on an incline, and prevents the carriage from running for a long period to time.
