NEW FORM OF ADMINISTRATION OF RACECADOTRIL WHICH IS ALSO KNOWN AS acetorphan OR benzyl (RS)-[[2-[(acetylsulphanyl)methyl]-3-phenylpropanoyl]amino]acetate
Disclosed is a racecadotril tablet consisting of a coated core, said core containing racecadotril, wherein the core comprises, by weight: 20 to 50 percent racecadotril; 25 to 50 percent filler(s); 9 to 25 percent disintegrant(s); 2 to 10 percent binding agent(s); 0.5 to 5 percent lubricant(s). Also disclosed is the process for making the tablet and the use of racecadotril for the manufacture of a medicament for treating diarrhoea.
