PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for resting a cell, having excellent effects for retarding or preventing the proliferation of cancer cells, and hardly having side effects even in long-term use and to provide a new agent for preventing and treating colon cancer utilizing the principle.SOLUTION: The agent for resting the cell and the agent for preventing the colon cancer contain a component contained in polished rice as an active ingredient.
