The present disclosure relates to antimicrobial agents and methods of using such agents. The present disclosure includes antimicrobial agents having broad spectrum antimicrobial activity, nucleic acid and amino acid sequences encoding such antimicrobial agents, and methods of using the antimicrobial agents. The antimicrobial agents of the present disclosure can be used as antimicrobial therapeutic agents, in microbial treatment protocols and studies, to reduce the survival of microorganisms, and in other applications related to reducing the survival of microorganisms.
