PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical adapter which sets a lighting board having a light emitting part securely fixed along with its maximized outer diameter while being kept from interfering with a group of objective optical members, and also to provide an endoscope unit equipped with the same.
SOLUTION: The optical adapter 40 is provided with its main body 41 which has its base end part detachably mounted at the tip of the inserting part 2 of the endoscope unit, a group 50 of objective optical members disposed from the base end part to the tip of the main body 41 of the adapter, a roughly platelike lighting board 60 having the light emitting part 61 which is disposed diametrically outside the group 50 of objective optical members at the tip part of the main body 41, and a tip cover 43 cylindrical with a bottom which has a cylinder part 66 fixed on the outer peripheral surface of the main body 41 while covering the tip part of the main body 41 with its bottom part 67. The first through hole 70 from which the tip of the group 50 of objective optical members is exposed and the second through hole 71 from which the light emitting part 61 is exposed are formed in the bottom part 67.
