PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ophthalmic equipment which, even when corneal reflex cannot detected, specifies a distance between an equipment body and a subject eye to control a position of the equipment body, consequently enables the equipment body to be smoothly aligned with respect to the subject eye without contacting with the subject eye.SOLUTION: The ophthalmic equipment is configured so that a luminous flux diameter of reflected light from the subject eye E falls within a light receiving surface of a Z alignment two-dimensional detection sensor 60. When a reflected image Ris detected on the light receiving surface of the Z alignment two-dimensional detection sensor 60, a Z alignment signal processing circuit acquires Z luminance distribution information, and a reflected light discrimination circuit uses the Z luminance distribution information to discriminate whether the reflected light is mirror surface reflection of the cornea or diffuse reflection on an eyelid or a cheek. When it is discriminated as the diffuse reflection on the eyelid or the cheek, a position in a Z direction is controlled by a Z direction position control circuit.
