PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method that enable an operator to obtain a desired image with a simple operation without performing a complex operation.SOLUTION: A system control section 112 enables a plurality of sample images formed by modifying image processing parameters used for X-ray image processing to be displayed on a diagnostic monitor 104. When an operator designates a ratio of a sample image after the plurality of sample images are displayed on the diagnostic monitor 104, the system control section 112 sets an image processing parameter for X-ray image processing on the basis of the designated ratio.
