PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antioxidant having an enhanced antioxidative effect, to prepare cosmetics containing the same, to obtain an ultraviolet ray inhibitor containing the same, and to provide food containing the same.SOLUTION: This antioxidant contains tocopherol dimer, and the anitoxidant contains the tocopherol dimer together with tocopherol. Further, the antioxidant contains the tocopherol dimer together with ascorbic acid or its derivative.
