The present disclosure provides solid protein formulations that are stable over long periods of time through various temperatures. The present disclosure also provides methods for making and using these formulations. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a solid protein formulation comprising a stabilizer, a sugar alcohol, a sugar, and a surfactant. In another embodiment, the present invention provides a solid protein formulation comprising darbepoetin alfa, histidine, mannitol, sucrose, and polysorbate-80. In another embodiment, the present invention provides a solid protein formulation comprising sodium glutamate, mannitol, sucrose, and polysorbate 20.
