PURPOSE: A composition for preserving cells, tissues, or organs is provided to regulate the functions of mitochondria using fimasartan, and to suppress cell apoptosis in cells, tissues, or organs, thereby protecting the cells, tissues, or organs from damage caused by cryopreservation, transplantation, or reperfusion. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preserving cells, tissues, or organs contains fimasartan and prevents ischemic injury or reperfusion injury. Fimasartan blocks mitochondrial calcium channels and suppresses cell apoptosis in the cells, the tissues, or the organs. The composition is used for in vitro preservation of the cells, the tissues, or the organs and preserves the cells, the tissues, or the organs during laparotomy or during or after transplantation.
