A method is provided for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of a condition where an enhancement of a Th1-mediated immune response and suppression of a Th2/Thl7- mediated immune response are desired. The method comprises the step of administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of at least one interferon alpha subtype selected from IFN-α10, IFN-α14, and a hybrid thereof. The condition to be treated may be selected from the group consisting of an autoimmune disease, an inflammatory disease (e.g. inflammatory bowel disease) and allergy or an associated allergic condition.Linvention concerne un procédé de traitement et/ou de prophylaxie dun état pour lequel lamélioration dune réponse immunitaire à médiation par Th1 et la suppression dune réponse immunitaire à médiation par Th2/Th17 sont souhaitées. Le procédé consiste à administrer à un sujet qui en a besoin une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace dau moins un sous-type dinterféron alpha choisi parmi IFN-α10, IFN-α14 et un hybride de ceux-ci. Ledit état à traiter peut être choisi dans le groupe comprenant une maladie auto-immune, une maladie inflammatoire (maladie intestinale inflammatoire, par exemple) et une allergie ou un état allergique associé.
