Disclosed are aerosolized and humidified particles which comprise a therapeutically active substance. The particles are obtained by suspending particles comprising a therapeutically active substance in a carrier gas, adding another gas having a higher water content than the first and changing the temperature or pressure to cause condensation of water on the particles. Also disclosed are methods to generate these particles, and apparatus useful to carry out such methods.
