A method of producing asiaticoside of at least 99% purity, comprising the acts of: a) treating the ground material of the source of asiaticoside with a first solvent； b) extracting the processed ground material with a second solvent to obtain an extract or filtrate； c) distilling and dissolving the extract or filtrate into a third solvent to obtain a solution； d) passing the solution through an adsorbent and eluting with an alcohol solvent to obtain an eluate； id) concentrating the eluate in vacuo to obtain an asiaticoside powder； ii) dissolving the powder in alcohol and crystallizing to obtain asiaticoside of at least 99% purity. 2.
