The cage according to the invention comprises at least one body 10 with two support faces 11, 12, each support face being configured to come into contact with two bones, the body 10 being made of a first material having a given solidity, a through-cavity 20 produced in the body 10 opening onto the two faces 11, 12 and an insert 30 defined between two end faces 31, 32 and having a cross-section at most equal to the cross-section of the through-cavity 20 so that the insert is slid into the cavity, this insert also being configured so that its end faces are respectively in continuity with the two faces 11, 12 when said insert 30 is in the cavity 20, the insert being made of a second material that is more solid than the first material. La cage selon l'invention comporte au moins un corps 10 avec deux faces d'appui 11, 12, chaque face d'appui étant configurée pour venir au contact des deux os, le corps 10 étant réalisé en un premier matériau ayant une solidité donnée, une cavité traversante 20 réalisée dans le corps 10 débouchant sur les deux faces 11, 12 et un insert 30 défini entre deux faces d'extrémités 31, 32 et ayant une section transversale au plus égale à la section transversale de la cavité traversante 20 de façon que l'insert soit glissé dans la cavité, cet insert étant en outre configuré de façon que ses faces d'extrémité soit respectivement en continuité des deux faces 11, 12 quand ledit insert 30 est dans la cavité 20, l'insert étant réalisé dans un second matériau plus solide que le premier matériau.
