PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing thread guide capable of achieving both required strength and weight reduction by a guide ring which is easy to be thinned and attached to a ring holding portion, and a fishing rod provided with the fishing thread guide. A guide main body (11) having a through hole extending along a guide central axis (B) and a guide ring (12) fitted into the through hole of the guide main body (11) are provided. The guide ring 12 is configured such that the width at the third position and the fourth position is smaller than the width at the first position and the second position.
