Provided are: a latent fingerprint detection method which is easy to handle and with which a latent fingerprint can be detected clearly; a thermal evaporation device for latent fingerprint detection and a latent fingerprint detection device which are capable of detecting a latent fingerprint clearly in a single operation by heating a drug at a high temperature in a short period of time; and a composition for latent fingerprint detection. This latent fingerprint detection method comprises: a heating step of heating a drug which gasifies by heating and adheres to a latent fingerprint on a specimen; and an exposing step of exposing the specimen to which the latent fingerprint is adhered in an atmosphere of the gasified drug, the drug being a mixture of a 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester polymer and a dye.
