PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of improving the real-time property of an image representing a puncture needle while acquiring an image representing an object for puncture.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic probe 2 and a transmission/receiving part 3 serially acquire volume data in a second scanning area under the control of a control part 9 by serially scanning the second scanning area a plurality of times with a three-dimensional first scanning area and the second scanning area smaller than the first scanning area and included in the first scanning area as the objects for scanning with ultrasonic waves, and acquire volume data in the first scanning area by switching the scan and scanning the first scanning area.
