PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining mass garden, requiring less labor as compared with a conventional method. SOLUTION: Moss in a moss garden is exfoliated to expose a soil surface and a moss supporting layer is formed on the soil surface, the moss supporting layer of which is formed of a nonbiodegradable material, having an uneven shape on a surface and having light shielding property and water permeability.
