PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which can reduce SAR and shorten an imaging time.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to one embodiment is composed of an FSE system pulse sequence in which a plurality of refocusing pulses follow an excitation pulse, which is divided into at least first and second pulse groups applied after the excitation pulse. The first pulse group is composed of a refocusing pulse sequence where respective flip of refocusing pulses have a prescribed high flip angle.
