A large-scale cultivation device for growing kelp on the land and a method thereof are provided. The device comprises a cultivation container, a seawater processing mechanism communicated with the cultivation container, a cooling mechanism disposed in the cultivation container, and a fixation mechanism disposed at the bottom of the cultivation container. The method comprises the steps of: providing a first step of configuring the kelp on the fixation mechanism disposed on the bottom of the cultivation container providing a second step of guiding the seawater into the cultivation container after the seawater is sterilized and filtered by the seawater processing mechanism providing a third step of guiding the sterilized and filtered water by the seawater processing mechanism into the cultivation container providing a fourth step of using the cooling mechanism to control the temperature of the seawater in the cultivation container and providing a fifth step of repeating the second and third steps after adequate days so as to change water in the cultivation container without cleaning the bottom of the tank of the cultivation container and thus to grow kelp seedlings inside the cultivation container.
