According to one embodiment, the puncture needle (1) for the ultrasonic waves performs puncturing at the same time of observing a puncture state through ultrasonic images and in the puncture needle (1), the front end of a puncture needle body (11) is provided with a needle point (13), and at least one corner-cube reflector (12) is arranged at a given position of the puncture needle body (11) by a triangular pyramidal pit. The ultrasonic waves oscillated from the ultrasonic probe are reflected by the corner-cube reflector (12) to return to the ultrasonic probe, so the reflected waves face the direction the same as the incident direction of the ultrasonic waves and accurately return to the ultrasonic probe even though the angle between the exposure pathway of the ultrasonic waves and the axis of the puncture needle is relatively smaller.
