PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber valued from multifaceted viewpoints according to actual using state and hardly causing a problem such as flowback in the actual use. SOLUTION: This absorber comprises a water absorptive resin in which the total sum of deformation repelling forces of gels swollen 10 times, 20 times and 30 times the dead weight with physiological saline is 100 kPa or more, and a hydrophilic fiber. The deformation repelling forces of the gels swollen 10 times, 20 times and 30 times the dead weight with physiological saline of the water absorptive resin are 40, 30 and 20 kPa or more, respectively. The water absorptive resin is preferably subjected to surface crosslinking. In this absorber, the ratio of the water absorptive resin is set to 30 wt.% or more and less than 100 wt.% of the total weight of the absorber. The absorber is retained between a liquid permeable sheet and a liquid impermeable sheet to constitute the absorptive article.
