The present invention relates to a stable aqueous formulation comprising at least 5 mg / mL CD-RAP protein and charged amino acids, said amino acids preferably having a net charge at a pH between about 6 and 8. The components of the formulation provide stability during repeated freeze-thaw cycles. In a preferred aspect, the agent is used for therapeutic use, preferably for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, in particular osteoarthritis.
