PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface sheet for absorbent articles in which fibers located at a boundary with embossed recesses are juxtaposed and which have an erecting property.SOLUTION: This surface sheet for absorbent articles includes, in a skin contact surface side, a plurality of linear embossed recesses 11 and a plurality of compartment zones compartmented by the plurality of embossed recesses 11, the compartment zone including a projection 14 including heat-stretching fibers erecting towards the skin contact surface side.
