A method of using a shielding device with an applicator includes inserting the distal portion of the shielding device to a treatment site of a patient, the shield being made of plastic, imaging the treatment site, planning treatment of the treatment site based on the imaging, setting up the patient for treatment, imaging the treatment site, removing the distal portion of the shielding device from the treatment site, exchanging the shield made of plastic with a shield made of tungsten, inserting the distal portion of the shielding device to the treatment site, the shield being made of tungsten, imaging the treatment site, and performing the treatment.Cette invention concerne une méthode dutilisation dun dispositif de protection avec applicateur, ladite méthode consistant à insérer la partie distale du dispositif de protection dans le site de traitement chez un patient, la gaine de protection étant en plastique, à prendre des clichés du site de traitement, à programmer le traitement du site de traitement daprès les clichés, à installer le patient pour le traitement, à prendre des clichés du site de traitement, à retirer la partie distale du dispositif de protection du site de traitement, à changer la gaine en plastique par une gaine en tungstène, à insérer la partie distale du dispositif de protection dans le site de traitement, la gaine étant en tungstène, à prendre des clichés du site de traitement et à effectuer le traitement.
