The present invention relates to an artificial skin model that can simulate the behaviour of natural skin in terms of the permeation and penetration of compounds. The model is formed by a polymer membrane of a different nature, on which a layer of lanolin is deposited. The artificial skin model is useful for testing the permeation and absorption of pharmacological or cosmetic active ingredients.
