PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of facilitating the acquisition of a diagnostic image of an area with a failure in detecting an object even when the area with the failure exists.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes an identification unit and a collection unit. The identification unit identifies a first area and a second area different from the first area on an image on the basis of the detection result of an object region detected on the image from which the object region of a subject has been extracted.
