The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, and treating dental caries and periodontal diseases by containing acacetin as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the acacetin in the composition has effects on the pathogens of the dental caries and periodontal diseases corresponding to the minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) value of 25-200 &mu；g/ml and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) value of 50-800 &mu；g/ml. The present invention also relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, and treating dental caries and periodontal diseases by containing a mixture of acacetin and a conventional antibacterial substance as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the composition includes a mixture of acacetin and a conventional antibacterial substance as an active ingredient to obtain the synergistic effect thereof. The composition can process the mixture of the conventional antibacterial substance and half of the MIC value of acacetin and completely eliminates the growth of the pathogens of the dental caries and periodontal diseases after 3-6 hours.본 발명은 아카세틴을 유효성분으로 함유하는 치아우식증 및 치주질환을 예방, 개선 또는 치료하는 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 조성물은 아카세틴이 치아우식증 및 치주질환의 병원균에 대하여 최소 억제 농도(MIC) 값이 25~200 ㎍/㎖ 및 최소 살균 농도(MBC) 값이 50~800 ㎍/㎖에 각각 해당되는 효능을 보유하고 있다.또한 본 발명은 아카세틴과 기존 항균물질의 혼합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 치아우식증 및 치주질환을 예방, 개선 또는 치료하는 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 조성물은 아카세틴과 기존 항균물질의 혼합물을 유효성분으로 함유함으로써 상승작용(synergistic effect)을 일으키는 효능이 있으며, 아카세틴 1/2 MIC 값과 기존 항균물질의 혼합물을 처리하고 3~6시간 후에는 치아우식증 및 치주질환 병원균의 성장이 완전히 사멸하는 효능을 보유하고 있다.
