A method is provided for identifying a material having an efficacy for reducing color contrast between a hyperpigmented skin lesion and skin surrounding the hyperpigmented skin lesion without directly affecting melanocytes or melanogenesis. The method includes the steps of applying a composition containing a material to be tested to the hyperpigmented skin lesion； and after an interval of time, observing whether the composition has effected at least one of inhibiting proliferation of keratinocytes, stimulating differentiation of keratinocytes, and improving compressive deformation of dermal papillae, in a basal layer of epidermis in the hyperpigmented lesion of skin.L'invention concerne un procédé pour identifier un matériau ayant une efficacité de réduction de contraste des couleurs entre une lésion cutanée hyperpigmentée et la peau entourant la lésion cutanée hyperpigmentée, sans affecter directement les mélanocytes ou la mélanogenèse. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à appliquer une composition contenant un matériau à tester à la lésion cutanée hyperpigmentée ； puis, après un intervalle de temps, à observer si la composition a eu au moins l'un des effets parmi l'inhibition de la prolifération des kératinocytes, la stimulation de la différenciation des kératinocytes, et l'amélioration de la déformation en compression des papilles dermiques, dans une couche basale de l'épiderme de la lésion cutanée hyperpigmentée.
