PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide safe antimicrobial agents derived from an easily available natural product and equipped with excellent selective antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, prophylactic/therapeutic agents for diseases caused by Staphylococcus aureus as a pathogen, and skin care external preparations including them.SOLUTION: The antimicrobial agents against Staphylococcus aureus and the prophylactic/therapeutic agents for diseases caused by Staphylococcus aureus as a pathogen include an extract of Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze as an active ingredient.
